Little Athletics promotes that it is important to “Be your Best” ®. The emphasis is on fun, participation, performance, technique and getting involved with your family in physical and healthy activity.
Little Athletics is a family activity where children from under 6 through to under 17 learn the basic athletic skills of running, jumping and throwing. Little Athletics is a fun activity in which all children, regardless of ability, are encouraged to improve their own personal performances, To achieve that goal, our Centre provides a friendly competition on Friday evenings.
Training and coaching activities take place during the week. By joining in the activities, and learning how to participate in the events correctly, your children will have a lot of fun!
Little Athletics is a fitness activity which consists of simple warm up routines preceding each meet, coaching sessions and participation in the actual running, jumping and throwing events. All activities are designed to help improve your child’s fitness and wellbeing. Not all competitors can be champions and this philosophy applies to all sports. For the majority of our members, we want the emphasis to be on improvement rather than winning.
To better our own personal performance in whatever we attempt is undoubtedly a step forward and a basis for good mental and physical health.
Our Season runs on Friday nights over Spring/Summer between September and March.
Activities start at 6:00pm every Friday so come on down and join in the fun.
